Chief Judge Sharon Prost

Chief Judge Prost is the Chief Circuit Judge on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Her bio is available here – she has worked in every branch of government!!!!
It is worth understanding what the Federal Circuit does within the US appellate system. The federal circuit has a concentration in patent law/other specific subject matters. The judges have life tenure. HERE is an explanation of the court’s jurisdiction that you should read in order to understand the specific types of questions CJ Prost will be suited to answer.
Consider asking questions about:
- Her experience in the Senate Judiciary Committee’s office – how polarized nominations were in her time there compared to now
- the objectivity of the courts
- how the public’s perception of the court impacts their legitimacy
- the impact of polarization amongst political elites on judicial nominations
- the consequences of polarization at the state level on cases moving throughout the federal circuit.
This is a big deal!! Do your research on her!! Ask a question so thought-provoking that she’ll make you her clerk some day!!
